Entering 2020, we at the Safety Coalition knew that it was going to be a year of extraordinary effort towards extraordinary change.  After a two-year push to strengthen our partnerships, survey the needs of the Lancaster community, and plan to meet those needs, we were preparing to embark on a $2,000,000 capital campaign and total overhaul of both our monitoring center and public safety camera system.  As you know, the context for our community’s major plans have changed more than any of us could have imagined.  In light of this period of uncertainty in which we now live and the needs that still very much exist, LSC is working to adapt and serve during today’s challenges and preparing to build towards a better tomorrow at the Coalition and in Lancaster City. LSC is the only 501c3 non-profit who owns and is responsible for a city-wide public safety camera network in the nation.  This structure keeps us available as an objective resource for the community and keeps costs down, but it requires that we maintain strong support from both the public and private sectors.  Put simply, without the support of all our partners, we cannot exist.  And with our aging equipment beginning to fail, we will need that support more than ever.
